Cultures
African Student Kollective. Three words: Explore, articulate,
and celebrate! ASK wants women willing to discover the rich diversity that
is African culture. The Kollective is all about promoting unity at MBC and
other colleges.

Anointed Voices of Praise is MBC’s student-directed,
traveling music ministry of traditional and contemporary gospel music. This
music mission has also formed an exchange with a gospel choir in France — AVP
went to France in 2004, and the French visited us in 2005.

Black Student Alliance. This is an organization that explores
and articulates the varied concerns of African-American students, provides
a support network, and celebrates African-American culture on campus.

Caribbean Student Association. This group
tells the stories and shares the tradition of Caribbean, South American,
Central American, and African culture.

Greater Things Dance Ministry. A truly, and literally, moving
experience. This student-choreographed and directed liturgical dance ministry
seeks to promote spiritual growth through movement. The choreography embraces
African-American dance expression.

Kuumba Players (kuumba means creativity in Swahili).
This theatre group explores, expresses, and celebrates African-American life.

Ladies of Elegance is a student performance arts group that specializes in step, flags and twirling.

Latinas Unidas is an organization which provides opportunities for Mary Baldwin students to explore, articulate, and celebrate Latin American culture. It promotes unity among Latina Students and is a valuable partner in Minority Clubs United.

Libations is a literary megaphone for the African-American
voice at MBC. This annual publication allows African-American students to
present their work through poetry, prose, short stories, photography, and
art.

Minority Clubs United promotes coalition-building among
minority student organizations and students of color. MCU provides opportunities
for cultural enrichment and awareness on campus.

The Ida B. Wells News is a newsletter that gives valuable information about the accomplishments and activities that take place within the Ida B. Wells Living learning Community. This online newsletter is sent to all Ida B. Wells Living Learning Community members past and present, parents of current residential members and sista friends.
Umoja Chronicles is a newsletter published by the Office of African American and Multicultural Affairs designed to share communication between multicultural student organizations and students interested in exploring multicultural student life on campus.
