This certificate program qualifies you to sit for the state licensing exam. In keeping with the Commonwealth of Virginia's regulations, you will need to hold a baccalaureate or higher degree from an accredited institution to enroll.
Twenty-one semester hours of coursework (7 courses) and a 400-hour supervised internship are required. Up to nine semester hours (3 courses) may be transferred from other colleges or completed by prior learning portfolio.
Courses are available on-line, in group tutorial formats at your local MBC center, on campus in Staunton through traditional classroom mode, or by independent study. You will need to complete all coursework with a grade of C- or better.
Upon completion of the program you receive a certificate in Long Term Care Administration and a special designation on your transcript.
