Antennaria named for the resemblance of the pappus of the staminate flowers to the antennae of insects

neglecta overlooked, neglected.

Natural history / Folklore

Plant was boiled in milk as a folk remedy for diarrhea and dysentery. Leaves used as a poultice for bruises and snakebite.12 They are unisexual, with all of the flowers on a single plant being male or female. This often results in unisexual clonal patches which insures outcrossing.9
