Prospective PEG students are encouraged to apply from their seventh grade year on and are accepted based upon giftedness, consistent academic achievement, and personal maturity. The process of matching the student to the program is critical for the health and development of the student and the program. A case study approach is used for the PEG selection process, involving the collection of extensive information from the prospective student and her parents.

Applicants are required to:

  • submit their official transcripts from 6th grade to their current grade
  • submit two letters of recommendation from teachers and one letter from a school administrator (principal, guidance counselor, head of school or superintendent)
  • submit their official SAT or ACT scores (PSAT scores will not be accepted)
  • complete a family and individual interview on campus
  • complete 4 of 6 student essays

Students are selected based upon: giftedness, consistent achievement, maturity, the ability to benefit from the program, and a serious sense of purpose.
