MBC Financial Aid: Missing Information Letters

"Missing Information" letters are sent to all financial aid applicants beginning in January preceding the academic year. These letters are our way of letting you know the status of your file. Aid cannot be credited to your account after enrollment until your file is complete.

Read these letters carefully. They will let you know which documents we have not received and which have been returned to you for completion or correction.

Call if

  • You know it has been more than 10 to 14 days since you mailed a document to our office;
  • You never received a document requested to be returned (such as an award letter or loan request form); or
  • It has been more than two weeks since you filed your FAFSA, and we still do not have the electronic version of your Student Aid Report.
If you are not planning on filing the FAFSA, send us a brief note with your name and Mary Baldwin ID number (found on the missing information letter), and we will adjust our records and finalize your financial aid file.

Documents that may be requested:

Name of Document Description of Document 
 Student Aid Report (SAR) Results from the U.S. Dept. of Education from your FAFSA. We will receive it electronically if you listed MBC on your FAFSA. If you need to check on your SAR, call 1-800-433-3243 to ask the processor if your application has been completed.
Verification Worksheet If you are selected you must restate certain information on your FAFSA as well as provide copies of tax return(s). If you did not file them, indicate so. Signatures of student and parent (or spouse if student is married) are required.
Parent's Federal Tax Return A signed copy of your parent's federal tax return is required if you are a dependent student selected for verification.
Student's Federal Tax Return A signed copy of your federal tax return is required if you filed one. (So is a copy of your spouse's return if you are married and filed separately).
Tuition Assistance Grant Application sent with initial application packet and returned to our office by July 31.
Award Letter The letter sent from our office with a formal offer of financial aid for the coming academic year. NOTE: Letter is subject to changes based on outside aid, verifications, etc.
Loan Request Form Sent with the award letter if PLUS loan is awarded. This form can be used to request a PLUS loan for parent(s) of dependent students.
Stafford Loan Master Promissory Note Pre-printed application sent to student by the lender after we receive your signed award letter and we certify the loan. Student signs and returns this to the lender, who notifies our office of receipt.
PLUS Loan Master Promissory Note Pre-printed application sent to parent of a dependent student following processing of Plus Loan Request Form. Parent signs and returns this to the lender, who notifies our office of receipt.
Alien Registration Card  May be required to verify your eligible non-citizen status for federal or state aid. Copies of your parent(s) cards are also required if you are a dependent student.
