Sharon Barnes Sharon Barnes, Director of the Roanoke Center

In addition to advising students, Ms. Barnes teaches courses in Introduction to Listening, Women in Music, and Fundamentals of Music. She is an active member of ACHE (Association of Continuing Higher Education) and IAWM (the International Alliance of Women in Music). Ms. Barnes often appears at conferences as a presenter on the topics of advising adult learners and online teaching.

Joyce Franklin Joyce Franklin, Regional Operations Coordinator

Joyce Franklin has been with the Adult Degree Program since the Roanoke office opened in 1984. She provides much needed assistance to students and faculty.

Kari Frenz Kari A. Frenz, Academic Advisor

Kari Frenz has been with the College since July 2011. She advises undergraduate ADP students and Post Baccalaureate students seeking teacher licensure. Kari has a BA in mathematics from Mary Baldwin College and her MS in education and student affairs administration from Radford University.

Alice Waddell Alice M. Waddell, Assistant Professor of Education

Dr. Waddell joined the MBC faculty in 2004 as adjunct faculty. She joined the Roanoke Office in July 2008. She teaches Inquiry in Social Science and Instructional Strategies for Inquiry-Based Classrooms at the Masters level and Elementary Methods and Middle School-Secondary Methods in ADP. Dr. Waddell serves as the Faculty Advisor for GTE in the Roanoke Center and supervises student teachers.
