Confidentiality Policy

It is the policy of Mary Baldwin College to protect the privacy of its alumni and friends. Therefore, information provided to the college is kept confidential except in instances when it is shared with authorized volunteers for the purpose of official college business.

Alumni names, addresses, and biographical information are released only to class officers (or their designated representatives) and members of the Mary Baldwin College boards (Board of Trustees, Alumnae/i Association Board of Directors, Advisory Board of Visitors, and Parent Council) who make contacts on behalf of the college for events and other projects to advance the institution’s mission.

The following statement pertains to the confidentiality of all information provided to Mary Baldwin College’s volunteers, including but not limited to: personal, professional, and volunteer information regarding individuals; training or other internal materials; and non-public statements.

Alumni information is entrusted to Mary Baldwin College by each individual alumna/us and is confidential and protected. Any information volunteers receive regarding alumni is not to be given or sold to any person or business entity, nor should it be used for non-MBC solicitations, political endeavors, or any commercial purpose. Permission must be obtained from individual alumni before releasing his or her information to any person or business outside the Mary Baldwin College community.
