Asian studies majors examine a broad perspective of culture, religion, politics, economics, and history. The diverse and wide range of classes covers China, Japan, Korea, and the Middle East. Students can spend a semester or more at various universities in Asia, including Mary Baldwin’s sister school, Doshisha Women’s College in Kyoto, Japan.
Students can pursue a BA with a major in Asian studies. Asian studies is also available as a minor.
Asian Studies is a part of MBC’s School of Social Sciences, Business, and Global Studies and is available through the College for Women in Staunton and through the Adult Degree Program in Charlottesville, Rappahannock, Richmond, Roanoke, South Boston, Staunton, Weyers Cave, and Williamsburg.
