A broad coalition of faculty, staff, students, and community members are working together in an effort to bring indigenous species of grasses and flowers to Mary Baldwin’s campus. After years of planning, seeds planted on Cannon Hill blossomed into a wildflower meadow in the summer of 2010 and more acres will be transformed into a native habitat for birds and insects as the program expands in 2011. To get to know some of the species that will return to the hills of Mary Baldwin, visit Associate Professor of Biology Eric Jones’ database of flowering plants native to Augusta County.
