4/11 MBC Hosted it's First Annual Faculty/Staff Softball Game.
The Fighting Squirrels, defeated the Faculty/Staff 10-8, in the game and will play NCW away tomorrow at 2pm.
4/9 MBC Athletics and SAAC place 2nd in Conference "Pennies for a Purpose"
The USA South announced the winner of the SAAC community service program was Peace College who raised
$1,081.29. MBC was 2nd with a grand total of $580.61. Both schools will donate to Relay for Life and the fight against Cancer. USA South Coverage

4/8Squirrels drop 9 matches to Hollins
The Fighting Squirrels lost all 9 matches against Hollins University. The Squirrels were without players and had injuries that forced withdrawals from matches, in one case a match that the Squirrels were leading. The Squirrels finish their season at home on Friday and Saturday against Averett and N.C. Wesleyan. Fridays game is at 4pm. [Box]

The Fighting Squirrels of Mary Baldwin had an uphill battle today against a very good Methodist University team that is currently ranked 11th in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Polls at Squirrel Park. Carter and Hawkins lead in National Basketball Stats
Jessica Carter is ranked #7 Nationally in Points per Game at 21 ppg and #25 in Three-Pointers per Game with 2.6.
Kara Hawkins earned #28 in Rebounds per Game with 11 rpg.
Jessica Carter has earned another award for her efforts this season. D3hoops is the premier site for Division III college basketball information. She has been recognized as a 2nd team All-Region selection in her senior year. She earned the record of MBC's All-Time leading scorer and holds records in many statistical categories for basketball. Congratulations to Jessica on her many accomplishments.
3/16ODAC and USA South Split Senior Basketball All-Star Games
(ROCKY MOUNT, NC) - The third annual ODAC-USA South Men and Women's Basketball Senior Challenge took place today, Sunday, March 16 at N.C. Wesleyan College. For the second consecutive season, the two team's split as the USA South women defeated the ODAC women while the ODAC men were victorious over the USA South men. Jessica Carter scored 18 points, was 4-4 from 3 point range and 7-9 from the field and had 6 assists. Lindsay Callison was 2-6 from the field and 1-3 from 3 point range with 3 steals. 3/2 Mary Baldwin is 5th in President's Cup Standings
In MBC's first season in the USA South, the school stands at 5th place in women's sports.
The USA South Athletic Conference President's Cup symbolizes the league's top overall athletic program each year. As of the 2005-2006 school year, there is a separate men's and women's Cup as well the overall cup. Points are distributed based on the number of schools sponsoring the particular sport. ...Full Standings

2/27 Cross-Country earns 2007 USTFCCCA All-Academic Team Award
390 NCAA Division III schools sponsor Cross-Country programs across the country. Mary Baldwin was one of 141 women's programs to receive the award. The team earned a 3.32 Cumulative GPA. MBC's GPA was the highest amongst the USA South teams that are members of the USTFCCA. 30 of 32 teams at the NCAA Women's Cross-Country Championships are on the list as well. Congratulations to the Cross Country team on such an outstanding representation of being a MBC student-athlete.
Jessica Carter has been named a First-Team All-Conference Selection this season.
She scored 526 points this season and averaged 21 ppg. She finishes her career with 1,943 points. Congratulations to Jessica and MBC Basketball.
