Cross Country Finishes 3rd

The Mary Baldwin College Cross Country team finished 3rd at Kernstown Battlefield in their opening meet of the 2010 season on Wednesday, September 1. Freshman Sophia Stone of Pacific Palisades, CA finished 2nd in the 5000 meter event with a time of 21:58:00, only 26 seconds behind Amy Smith of Shenandoah University. Shenandoah won the meet with 24 points while Hood finished with 46. Marymount also competed but did not have a team score.

Mary Baldwin College's next race will be Saturday, September 11 in Lexington, VA at Washington and Lee University.

 

Volleyball Loses First Match to Randolph

The Mary Baldwin College Volleyball team traveled to Lynchburg to play their opening match of the 2010 season at Randolph College. The fighting Squirrels lost in three games 17-25, 16-25, and 14-25. "The players did a lot of positive things tonight," stated Coach Yee. "We have new players and new positions. The team simply needs to learn to play together better and have a better understanding of their job."
