

4-9 Softball Falls to Methodist [Box1] [Box2]
The first game was a high scoring affair as Mary Baldwin brought their bats and put up the second highest scoring total for the season. Methodist jumped out to a quick lead scoring two runs in the first, and an impressive 7 runs in the second. Amber Ralston would struggle in the third inning giving up two more runs. She went on to pitch 4 scoreless innings. Mary Baldwin would begin to chip away at the lead. Amanda Miller would score on a passed ball, and Victoria Barrett singled to drive in Courtney Clausi. The Squirrels were two runs closer. Mary Baldwin would score 3 runs in the 5th. Jessica Hogle lined a single to left field to drive in two of the three runs. The squirrels would score two more runs in the bottom of the 7th, but would fall short 7-11.
Notable performances included Megan Moyer and Jessica Hogle who both drove in two runs each. Kelsey Still went 3 for 4 on the day with one double.
The second game was a more one sided affair as Methodist was able to drive in several runs. Jessica Hogle would provide some pitching relief for 3 innings as she only gave up 3 earned runs, but Mary Baldwin would not be able to handle the Monarchs hitters. The Squirrels ended up losing the game 5-21.
Notable performances included Kelsey Still who put together another impressive game going 2 for 3 with 1 RBI. Megan Moyer and Victoria Barrett both had singles that drove in a run. Jessica Hogle was 1 for 3 at the plate with two RBI’s.
