1/19 Squirrels Avenge Loss vs SVU, Win 68-66

The Squirrels traveled a short distance to play the Knights of Southern Virginia in Buena Vista. The Knights won the first meeting between the two teams early in the season. This game would be a nail biter to the end. MBC would show a balanced scoring attack in the first half, as 7 of 9 players scored to help give the Squirrels a 33-29 advantage at the half.

Once again the Squirrels would balance out their scoring in the second half, which would help to offset a 15 point scoring performance by the Knights Cara Joyner. Kara Hawkins would score 9 points, but the Squirrels were down to the wire, and would be outscored 37-35 in the half. MBC would come out on top 68-66 at the end of the game.

Sabrina Desper had 15 points and 9 rebounds, Kara Hawkins earned another double-double on the season, scoring 14 points and dominating the boards with 16 rebounds. Ericka Brown had a strong 12 point performance that really helped the Squirrels earn a victory on the day. [Box]
