1/31 Squirrels Break Losing Streak vs NCWC

The Squirrels played a tough, closely contested rival in the PAC today. Baldwin was looking to gain their first win in a long run of losses and work their way up the USA south rankings in hopes of gaining a spot into the conference play-offs.

The Squirrels came out with a quick three-pointer to start out the contest and looked strong from the beginning. The
Bishops would control most of the first half, but MBC would
only trail 32-35 going into the break.

The Battling Bishops slowed down their game and the Squirrels
matched up with better defensive play. Baldwin trailed for most
of the second half as well but started a late game surge. Jennifer
Dobson would hit a key basket late in the game to put MBC up
by six. The Squirrels would hold on for the 59-51 win.

Sabrina Desper returned to action and scored a game leading
18 points and added 9 rebounds. Jennifer Dobson showed a
strong performance with 10 points and 6 boards. Kara Hawkins
grabbed 11 more rebounds to add to her season total.

The Squirrels are on the road vs Averett tomorrow at 2pm
