Both teams could use the win to help solidify their standings in the first half of the season. The game started off with a Kara Hawkins free-throw, and free-throws would become a significant factor to the outcome of this close game. With 10:57 left to play in the first half, Iiesha Ricks hit a shot to give the Squirrels a three point lead 14-11. At 3:40, Jennifer Dobson hit 2 free throws to give MBC a 1 point lead 22-21. The game was tied at 27 with 1:07 to play, Christie Hamilton would hit a three-point basket to give the Fighting Squirrels the lead 30-29 at the half.
The Avenging Angels pushed their lead early in the second half and was leading 40-33 with 15:27 left to play. The Squirrels would scrap their way back with 7 offensive rebounds in 5 minutes and some solid scoring; Baldwin tied the game at 40 with 10:56 left in the game. Jessica Carter would take over the scoring record with 7:48 left in the game after scoring her 10th point of the game, to bring her career total to 1,698 points, and giving MBC a 5 point lead 47-42. The game was tied for the 7th time at 51 with 1:01. Kara Hawkins would hit a basket and 4 free-throws from the team would put the game away 57-51 in favor of the Squirrels.
Jessica Carter led the Squirrels in scoring with 15 points, Christie Hamilton had a double-double with 10 points and 10 boards, and Kara Hawkins had 10 points and led everyone with 18 rebounds, making it her 4th game in a row. The team had 51 rebounds on the evening with 28 being on the offensive end while also making 19-30 free-throws to aid in the victory.
