2/26 Squirrels End Season at Methodist.
As the #6 seed entering the tournament, MBC looked to upset the #3 seed Methodist University. The game started out nervous, as both teams had trouble maintaining possession and the score was 4-4 with 16:22 in the half. The Monarchs would have the largest lead of the half with 8 at 8:40 and the Squirrels would work constantly to cut the lead and keep the game within reach. The Squirrels took a one point lead on a layup by Kara Hawkins with 2:16 remaining. The Monarchs retook the lead at the end of the half with the score 28-32.
The second half was tense as both teams worked for control of the game. Methodist continued to build their lead and Baldwin was forced to play from behind. The Monarchs opened up a 12 point lead with 8:31 remaining, when Jessica Carter was removed from the game by a poor judgment call on behalf of the head official. The Squirrels lost 57-77.
Christie Hamilton led all scorers with 14 points and had 7 rebounds. Kara Hawkins contributed a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds. Freshman Iiesha Ricks scored 10 points as well. The Squirrels end their season with a record of 11-14 and 8-10 in USA South Conference Play.
