11/18 Basketball Home Opener vs EMU

The Squirrels opened up to a capacity crowd in their season opener. Former Baketball standout Jessica Carter was honored with a game ball for becoming the all-time leading last season.

The Squirrels opened up the game with a slight 4-0 advantage and would keep the game close for the early part of the first half. The Royals would open up the game and lead 25-43.

The Second half showed some greater intensity by the Squirrels
to keep the half close, but EMU would still outscore MBC 30-38,
allowing EMU to win the game 55-81.

Senior Christie Hamilton scored 14 points on the evening,
shooting 3-7 from 3-pt range, while First Year Sabrina Desper
added her own 14 points in her debut. First year players Amber
Brooks and Vanessa Mayo contributed 6 and 5 points respectively.

The Squirrels go on the road for the Chatham Tip-Off
Tournament this Friday and Saturday. [Box]
