3/10 Softball Rally Falls Short in Gm 1 vs Randolph.
The Squirrels were home for their final home game before hitting the road for 4 contests. MBC faced the Wildcats of Randolph College at Squirrel Park.
Game 1
MBC started off the game with some good hitting and had an opportunity to score in the first, but the game would remain scoreless until the 3rd inning, when a walk given up by Ralston would come around to score. The Wildcats built up a three run lead when MBC would make use of an opportunity in the bottom of the third. Amanda Miller would double to right and drive in
Amber Ralston who also got on from a double to score the first run for MBC. Taylor Barela would drive in Sabrina Desper for the second run for MBC. The Squirrels would cut the lead to 3-4 and have 2 runners on in the 7th, but were unable to earn the win. [Box1]
Game 2
MBC would not have the same opportunities on offense and a few key defensive plays allowed the Wildcats to open up a 5-0 lead vs the Squirrels. A rough defensive inning for the Squirrels in the top of the 7th allowed another five runs to score, and would seal the game for the Wildcats 0-10. [Box2]
MBC is on the road vs UMW at 2:30pm tomorrow in Fredericksburg, VA.
