3/26 MBC Softball lost 2 Games vs CNU, 3-11 and 0-3

The Squirrels continue their season with a trip to Newport News, VA to face the Captains of CNU in another USA South Match-Up.

Returning from a solid performance yesterday, the Squirrels took some swings, but couldn’t produce in the first inning. They made the Captains do the same. The Squirrels got the lead first today with a 2 run 2nd, from a double by Amber Ralston and a Homer by Lacey Ogburn. The Captains took the lead in the bottom of the 2nd with 4 runs scored and the final out coming from a throw by Tayler Barela to Catcher Jessicca Brown at the plate. The Squirrels scored again after Karen Potter worked her way to third and was driven in by Christie Hamilton. The Squirrels allowed 7 more runs after the 2nd inning, making the final score 3-11. Game 2
The Squirrels played a complete game against a tough opponent in this one. The Captains got a run in the 2nd inning to give them a 1-0 lead. The bats for the Squirrels were having trouble meeting the ball for most of the game, but they had some opportunities. The Squirrels got some production in the 6th inning as Lacey Ogburn was on 3rd with Potter up to bat. The Squirrels were unable to bring in the tying run. The Captains added 2 in the 6th to make the final score 0-3. They Squirrels are back on the road to Greensboro College on Sat 3/29. Game time is 1pm. [Box2]
