MBC softball is making strides in the right direction today after solid play all around by the Squirrels. The Squirrels faced EMU of the ODAC conference who are currently undefeated in conference play.

The Squirrels played a solid game, keeping the game 2-1 going into the 4th. The Royals took advantage of a slight loss of focus and gained two runs in the inning. The Squirrels would cut the lead on a double from Amber Ralston to bring in Jessica Brown who scored after singling to right field and advancing on a wild pitch, making the score 4-2. Both teams threatened to score but went scoreless in the 5th. MBC gave up 3 in the 6th and another in the 7th, but they were ready to make some noise. With 2 outs and runners on, Christie Hamilton hit a 2 run Double to bring in the runners and make it a 2 run game. The Royals got out of the inning on the next at bat to seal the game 8-6 in their favor. [Box1]
