4/12 Squirrels drop both vs Battling Bishops

The Squirrels were on the road to finish up their regular season schedule against the Battling Bishops of NC Wesleyan today in Rocky Mount, NC. MBC was held scoreless in this game and gave up 5 runs early in the game to the Bishops. Libby Fulford of NCW did an outstanding job and got a no-hitter. The Squirrels went down 0-18 after a 10 run 5th. Game two was delayed due to rain. [Box1]

Game 2

After the rain delay, the players retook the field. The Squirrels were hoping to have a better showing in game 2. The Squirrels gave up 7 runs in the first four innings of play. MBC worked hard in the final two innings to try to put together some runs. With two outs in the 6th, Garika Williams got a double and was driven in by Christie Hamilton to put the Squirrels first run of the day on the board. Taylor Barela would bring in Rhonda Collins from 2nd base in the 7th for the Squirrels 2nd run. MBC lost 2-7. The Squirrels will travel to Burlington, NC to play in the USA South Tournament on Friday. at 9am. [Box2]
