

3-29 Softball Splits vs Sweet Briar
MBC Softball traveled to battle the Vixens of Sweet Briar. The Squirrels have been struggling at the plate to generate runs but hoped to turn some things around in this matchup.
In game 1 the Squirrels battled hard and had some chances to take the game. MBC gave up one run in the first three innings, but would earn a run off an Amanda Miller home run in the 4th to make the score 1-3. Courtney Clausi would homer in the 5th and cut the lead to 2-3. Baldwin would be down 2-6 entering the final inning, but would continue to claw away at the lead, earning runs as Megan Moyer, Victoria Barrett and Jamie Edwards would score. The Squirrels had 2 runners on with 2 outs but would be unable to drive them in, losing 5-6.
In game 2, MBC was out for a quick run as Amber Ralston doubled and was driven in by Kelsey Still for an early 1-0 lead. MBC would earn 3 more runs in the third and hold a strong lead until the Vixens tied it up in the bottom of the 5th to make it 4-4. Amanda Miller would score from a lead off single to give the Squirrels the 5-4 win.
Baldwin plays Southern Virginia on Tue March 30 with a 3pm start. [Box1] [Box2]
