4/11 Squirrels Win 7-2against Conference Opponent Averett

The Fighting Squirrels Tennis team got their first conference win against Averett University today. The Cougars defaulted 2 matches to give the Squirrels the advantage early.

Singles
#1 Singles saw Nicole Koiner take the court, but retired after only one game

#2 Singles had Caitlin Crowe getting another Match win this season against Niina Marttila. Crowe controlled the match for a 6-2, 6-0 win

#3 Singles saw Anna Grazynska facing Eliisa Alatalo. Anna played tough and had the longest match of the day, winning the marathon, 6-3, 4-6, 10-4 in the super tie break

#4 Singles pitted Francis Webber against Hannimari Savola. Webber was steady and won 6-1, 6-1

#5 Singles saw Gretchen Domaleski in action despite an injury and and put on a good showing. She won the first set but lost in the Super Tie Break. Scores 6-1, 5-7, 0-7

#6 Singles was defaulted

Doubles

#1 Doubles had Caitlin Crowe/Nicole Koiner vs FALLEN, Kerrie/MARTTILA, Niina. MBC had to win some key points for the 8-5 win

#2 Doubles showed Anna Grazynska/Dasha Caron vs Eliisa Alatalo, /Hannimari Savola. MBC won 8-3.

#3 Doubles was defaulted

MBC won the meet 7-2 and are back in action against NC Wesleyan tomorrow at 12:00pm.
