3/18 Tennis opens against USA South Ferrum

Mary Baldwin Tennis was in action today against the Panthers of Ferrum College. The Squirrels are looking for another win against Ferrum.

Singles

Squirrels #1 Nicole Koiner handled her match by getting a break in the first set and taking solid control in the second.

#2 Caitlin Crowe was looking to remain undefeated this season and kept her streak going with a 6-3-6-1 victory.

#3Ania Grazynska started strong but dropped 2 sets vs Katie Porter, who played a great match and won, 6-4, 6-0.

#4 Dasha Caron battled vs Morgan Moran. Dasha fought tough in both sets but dropped 4-6, 4-6.

#5 Gretchen Domaleski faced Shauna Simon. Gretchen was consistent but couldn’t get the victory and lost 3-6, 3-6

#6 Frances Webber played the longest match of the day, going three sets. Both players showed they could handle each others game as Webber dropped the first and won the second 1-6, 6-0. The third came down to a few critical breaks and Jacobsen came out on top 6-3 for the Victory

The score was 3-6 in favor of Ferrum. All three doubles matches were extremely controlled for the winning teams, with MBC winning at #1 doubles 8-1 and Ferrum winning at #2 and #3,  8-3 to seal the meet.
