
9/18 Volleyball loses tough game to Randolph College.
The Wildcats handed the Squirrels another loss this season. The opening game was tight as both teams worked to figure out the tendencies of their opponent. The Squirrels had their chances to win the game but a few missed opportunities allowed the Wildcats to win Game-1 23-25.
Game-2 showed a struggling performance but the Squirrels rebounded in Game-3 with strong serving and hitting. MBC would take Game-3 25-17. Game-4 showed the Wildcats closing out the match 16-25 to hand MBC another loss on the season.
Colena Roberts led the Squirrels with 16 kills, 3 aces and 10 digs on the evening. Anna Schueren and Christie Hamilton turned in Season high performances with 9 and 8 kills respectively. Schueren also led the team in digs with 19. Kim Clum put down 4 kills of her own for a .666 hitting percentage and dished out 28 assists for the team. First year player Amanda Miller turned in a perfect hitting performance with 3 kills on 13 attempts and no errors, good for a .213 hitting percentage.
The Squirrels begin USA South Competition this weekend with NCWC at 12pm and Greensboro at 4pm at the PAC of Mary Baldwin. [Box]
