9/20 Volleyball Drops 2 matches 1-3 vs Averett and Meredith

 

The Squirrels played Averett and Meredith on back to back day on a USA South Weekend. The Squirrels took set 1 vs the Cougars of Averett in a tight set. The Squirrels wouldn't be able to control the tempo of the match as Averett began to attack more consistently and the Squirrels gave up small runs in each set, losing the match 1-3. Anna Schueren and Marian Howard led the way with 9 and 7 kills. Kim Clum dished out 14 assists and Carla Hill earned 19 digs.

During the second match of the day, MBC started of consistent and earned the first set once again, but improved play by the Avenging Angels made it difficult on the Squirrels to rally for long periods. The Squirrels dropped 1-3 in this hard fought match. Anna Schueren led the Squirrels with 17 kills and a .173 hitting percentage. Marian Howard added 11 kills while the Kim Clum earned 28 assists and Carla Hill led everyone with 32 digs. The Squirrels play Shenandoah on 9/23 at 6pm. [Box1] [Box2]
