9/29 Volleyball Drops to Ferrum on the Road

The Squirrels traveled to Ferrum VA to face the Panthers in USA South action. MBC was looking for the second conference win of the season. MBC didn't start out strong but was in the early set until the end, dropping 19-25. The Squirrels took the Panthers out of their system in set 2 and took the lead late in the set to hold on 25-22. The Panthers got consistent and held off the Squirrels for the remainder of the match as MBC dropped 1-3.

Amanda Miller and Marian Howard led the way for the Squirrels with 7 kills each. Melanie Updike chipped in 6 kills while Brittany Kindle added 5. Paige Babb had a perfect hitting night with 2 kills and led the team with a .250 hitting percentage. Kim Clum garnered 20 assists with Carla Hill having another 5+ digs/set match for 22 total. The Squirrels are back in action this weekend in Raleigh, NC vs Meredith and Averett to begin the second round of USA South play. [Box]
