
10/7 Volleyball Drops to Shenandoah on the Road
The Squirrels traveled to Shenandoah to compete against the Hornets. MBC came out sluggish in the first game and lost an early 13-25 set to the Hornets. The Squirrels would rebound and come back strong in set-2 for a lead heading into the final points, but wouldn't be able to hold on, dropping 27-25. MBC took set-3 25-22 and improved their play as the match went on. Some close points we played at the end of set-4 but the Squirrels wouldn't be able to hold on to force a 5th set.
Melanie Updike led the Squirrels with 14 kills. Marian Howard added 11 kills and Brittany Kindle chipped in 10 kills. Kim Clum added 33 assists to her career total while Carla Hill led all defenders with 24 digs. [Box]
