10/21 Volleyball Battles W&L and CNU

The Squirrels fought hard vs W&L and CNU on back to back evenings. The Squirrels took on the Generals at home on Tuesday night after 3 weeks on the road. MBC was fired up to play and battled extremely tough in set 1. The Squirrels kept it close the whole way and came back from 21-24 to take the lead. The Squirrels would have a set point but would be unable to convert for the set, losing 25-27. The Squirrels lost steam in the second set, but came roaring back in the third. MBC would once again make a run at the end with service points from Paige Babb and have a 24-23 lead. The Generals would side out and control the final few points to take the match.

Marian Howard led the team with 11 kills and added 9 digs. Melanie Updike had 8 kills and hit .280. Anna Schueren had 9 kills with 7 digs. Kimberley Clum lead the attack and earned 25 assists, while Carla Hill added 24 digs. [Box]

MBC Traveled to CNU on Wed to play two conference matches against the Captains. MBC would be unable to overcome the strong defense of CNU and were outgunned by the attackers, dropping both matches 0-3.

Kim Clum earned 25 assists, Carla Hill had 25 digs, Anna Schueren earned 10 kills and Marian Howard added 7 kills in the two matches. [Box1] [Box2]
