Human Resources Generalist-Trainer

The Department of Labor and Industry's Division of Human Resources & Volunteer Programs is seeking a self-motivated individual to serve as a full-time Human Resources Generalist out of the Headquarters' Office in Richmond, Virginia. The purpose of this position is to assist with recruitment, training and development, and EEO Compliance. In addition, this position will assist with the administration of the volunteer and internship program, which will require some travel throughout the Commonwealth.

Required Education and Experience:

The ideal candidate must possess: Experience developing and delivering training or instructional programs in a business or educational institution; Experience with performing administrative tasks to include: o Scheduling of appointments using Outlook or similar software; o Preparing business letters; o Recording and transcribing meeting minutes; o Planning and coordination of events and meetings; o Managing records to include maintenance, scanning, retention, and destruction; Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite to include but not limited to Word, Excel, Outlook, Publisher, Access, etc., Internet, and e-mail software; Strong effective oral and written communication skills; Documented experience in working both as an active and contributing team member as well as independently; Attention-to-detail; Knowledge of telephone etiquette; Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality; and High school diploma or equivalent. The preferred qualifications are: A post-secondary education to include associate, bachelors, or other professional training/certifications in areas related to Training and Development, Education, Human Resources, or related fields; Prior experience with volunteer and internship program administration; Prior experience with recruitment and hiring; Knowledge of EEO guidelines; Prior experience working in a Human Resources or Volunteer Programs Office; and Verifiable fluency speaking, reading and writing Spanish.
