Biology

As a biology major, your core courses will expose you to the entire range of biology, from cellular and molecular through organismal, up to the level of the ecosystem. You will be able to take additional course work in specific areas. As a senior, you will put what you have learned into practice. You will write and submit a formal research proposal and carryout an original research project of your own design.

OPTIONAL EMPHASIS

Students can choose an emphasis in biomedical science or science education.

BIOMEDICAL SCIENCE

The biomedical science emphasis is an interdisciplinary program designed to prepare students for admission to professional schools in the medical sciences, graduate study in fields related to basic science research, or employment in the rapidly growing biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries.
