Voices of Sustainable Meal Week
April 11–15, 2011, each diner at Hunt Dining Hall was asked to make a conscious decision when requesting second helpings. The goal was to make students aware of the high cost of food, the amount of food they are consuming, and the amount of food they are wasting. Building on the program's multi-faceted success, the Sustainable Meal Plan will become the base meal plan in fall 2012. All You Care to Eat Plans will be available for an added charge.

The spacious and elegant Lyda B. Hunt Dining Hall, with its tall windows and remarkable views of Staunton and surrounding mountains, offers a variety of culinary options, including vegetarian selections at each meal. Lunch and dinner include a wide array of salads, homemade soups, desserts, fast food fare, made-to-order sandwiches, comfort foods, dishes that feature local ingredients, healthful choices at the Balanced U station, and a cook 'n go station where students can cook a variety of foods for themselves.

Hunt Dining Hall is the primary dining venue at MBC and is designed as an eat-in venue. When Hunt is closed between meals, students may eat at the Ham & Jam Pub, which is open most days for lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and dinner from 4 to 6:30 p.m. The Nuthouse, located on the ground floor in Hunt Hall, is open from 8 a.m. to midnight for students to enjoy the WiFi-equipped lounge with TV and comfortable seating. Grab ‘n Go meal service is provided on a limited basis Monday through Friday. The Nuthouse and the Ham & Jam Pub are designed to accommodate fast turn around and to-go packaging.
MBC Dining Services maintains high satisfaction scores among students, faculty, and staff, thanks to improvements in recent years to not only the food, but service and aesthetics as well. The Dining Services team saw satisfaction rates of 86 and 87 percent in 2010 and 2011, respectively.
