Mary Baldwin College seeks a Help Desk Manager to provide courteous
professional customer service and technical assistance to students, faculty
and staff. The Help Desk Manager’s role is to satisfy customers by ensuring
proper computer-related equipment and software operation so that end users
can accomplish business tasks. This includes proactively managing customer
relationships as well as receiving, prioritizing, documenting, and actively
resolving end user help requests. Problem resolution may involve the use of
diagnostic and help request tracking tools, as well as require that the individual
give in-person, hands-on help at the desktop level.
Qualifications: BA or BS desired. A+ Certification, MCP, MOUS or equivalent
experience required. Must have excellent interpersonal, verbal and written
communication skills. Working knowledge of PC/Mac repair and maintenance
for both hardware and software required. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve
issues with Windows XP & 7, Mac OS 10.x, Microsoft Networks, Office 2003/
2007/2010, Office 2004/2008, Google Apps, Intranet/Internet, Internet browsers,
Network connectivity, and DHCP & TCP/IP. Familiarity with various PDAs
and Smart devices. Ability to work varying hours, including occasional nights
and weekends. Position also requires the occasional lifting and movement of
equipment weighing up to 75 pounds. |

| Description: |
Mary Baldwin College, a liberal arts and sciences college in central Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley, seeks an experienced student life administrator who has a proven track record of facilitating outstanding student programs and activities to serve as Dean of Students. Reporting to the Senior Vice President for Administration, the Dean of Students is the chief student affairs officer in the Residential College for Women (population 800) and is responsible for the quality of student life outside the classroom.
The Dean of Students is responsible for student government, student organizations, an honor system, and policies pertaining to the administration of student affairs. This senior administrator acts as a student advocate and serves as a liaison between students and members of the faculty, administration, and staff. The Dean is responsible for residence life, housing, counseling, health services, student activities, career development, the First Year Experience, and multicultural affairs and collaborates with the Virginia Women’s Institute for Leadership and the Program for the Exceptionally Gifted.
Requirements and Qualifications:
A master’s degree is required, with a doctorate preferred. Degrees in higher education administration or a related field are expected. The successful candidate also will have:
- five years of progressively responsible student life experience in higher education or similar environment
- experience in directing, inspiring and motivating a professional staff to accomplish goals
- experience with student discipline and the enforcement of honor and judicial codes of conduct, emergency response procedures, and residential living
- experience in managing and allocating budgets and staff resources
- demonstrated ability to work within a diverse student population
- knowledge of current issues and trends in student affairs programs and services
- effective communication and interpersonal skills
- a collaborative leadership style to work collegially with faculty, staff, students, volunteers, and community leaders
- the ability to direct and oversee multiple responsibilities and projects effectively

Mary Baldwin College (Mary Baldwin) is a private liberal arts college enrolling 2,325 undergraduate and graduate students with 80 full-time faculty. twelve-month position as Company Manager and Director of Training for a rigorous
MFA degree program dedicated to the scholarship and performance of early modern
drama. The successful candidate will combine a practical and theoretical knowledge
of Shakespeare and performance with an extensive professional portfolio of ensemble,
collaborative, and devised theatre production (including Shakespeare and/or classical
theatre). As Company Manager and Director of Training, the candidate should possess
technical proficiency and/or credentials in various disciplines, including movement
and voice, along with prior experience in developing, coordinating, and maintaining

We are looking for a SystemsAdministrator who will maintain the smooth operation of the College’s enterprise server computing environment by identifying system requirements, monitoring system performance, and installing upgrades. Mary Baldwin College has a mix of stand-alone and virtualized Windows 2003-2008 servers running Active Directory, a Cisco-based network with Network Access Control, Intrusion Detection, and Bandwidth Shaping systems.
Duties:
- Establishes system specifications by conferring with users; analyzing workflow, access, information, and security requirements; and designing system infrastructure.
- Establishes system by planning and executing the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of
PC and server hardware, software, LAN and WAN networks, and operating and system management
systems; defining system and operational policies and procedures.
- Maintains system performance by performing system monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning; troubleshooting system hardware, software, networks and operating and system management systems; designing and running system load/stress testing; escalating application problems to vendor.
- Secures system by developing system access, monitoring, control, and evaluation; establishing and testing disaster recovery policies and procedures; completing back-ups; and maintaining documentation.
- Upgrades system by conferring with vendors and services; developing, testing, evaluating, and installing enhancements and new software.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; and participating in professional organizations.
