Correctional Deputy
Performs a variety of law enforcement duties in connection with the operation of the jail, courts and court security and the Sheriff's Office; does related work as required. Supervises inmates at meals or on work duties, bookings and movement throughout the jail; Transports prisoners to State farms, hospitals, institutions and other jurisdictions; Writes reports on daily activities and on incidents that occur in the jail; Answers telephone to give assistance to inmates or public.
Required Education and Experience:
•Minimum age of 21 years.
•Must be a citizen of the United States.
•High School diploma or equivalent.
•Must not have been convicted of any felony.
•Possession of a valid driver's license issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia
•Be of good character and reputation

Applicants who fail to submit the Personal History Questionnaire by the deadline will not be considered for employment. The hiring process will take between 3-6 months.
