Correctional Deputy

Performs a variety of law enforcement duties in connection with the operation of the jail, courts and court security and the Sheriff's Office; does related work as required. Supervises inmates at meals or on work duties, bookings and movement throughout the jail; Transports prisoners to State farms, hospitals, institutions and other jurisdictions; Writes reports on daily activities and on incidents that occur in the jail; Answers telephone to give assistance to inmates or public.

Required Education and Experience:

•Minimum age of 21 years. •Must be a citizen of the United States. •High School diploma or equivalent. •Must not have been convicted of any felony. •Possession of a valid driver's license issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia •Be of good character and reputation
