*Intellectual Disabilities - Direct Support Professional- Friendship Residence

Full-Time

Responsibilities: The Direct Support Professional, (DSP) provides services to adults with intellectual disabilities in a congregate setting. The position uses a variety of teaching techniques and strategies designed to facilitate independence and skills acquisition. The incumbent is a positive role model to individuals assigned to his/her care and creatively problem solves both individual and social stigma for optimum outcomes that will benefit the consumer(s). Services are provided taking into consideration the wants, needs, and desires of the person being served. The DSP provides opportunities for real choice while incorporating the principles of age appropriateness. As a facilitator of community integration and acceptance, the DSP must exercise sound judgment, perform all job functions in a professional manner, and be aware of the importance of consistency in service delivery.

Qualifications: -2 years experience in a human service field (preferred) -Must be physically able to respond to behavioral and medical emergencies, able to perform simple restraints, go up and down stairs, and ambulate quickly in home and community settings. The incumbent must be able to perform all duties including physically assisting individuals with wheelchair transfers, which will require lifting, and assistance with personal care/hygiene tasks. -Certification in CPR, basic First Aid, and medication administration (required but can be obtained upon hire) -Valid driver's license and meet requirements of motor vehicle check, drug/alcohol testing and child abuse/neglect with the Va. Dept. of Social Services (required)

* Intellectual Disabilities - Direct Support Professional-In Home Residential

Part-Time

Providers will work with individuals having intellectual disabilities. Work will be in their homes. Major duties include training, assisting, supervising and monitoring progress of the consumer. Applicant must possess the ability to work with individuals who require considerable assistance in activities of daily living. To be considered, applicants must possess a vailid Virginia driver's license, acceptable driving record, reliable transportation and required limits of automobile liability insurance (if transporting a client).

Minimum Education and Experience High School diploma is required. Experience in similar settings is preferred. Certification in CPR, basic First Aid, and medication administration is also required but can be obtained upon hire.

*Intellectual Disabilities - Merryfield Supervisor (ICF/ID)

Full Time

Responsibilities: The ICF/ID Supervisor provides management and oversight of Merryfield Residence and responsible for the conversion to a certified Intermediate Care Facilities for adults with intellectual disabilities. The ICF/ID Supervisor provides supervision to the staff working in these programs, 7 days a week. This position recruits, and coordinates the interdisciplinary team of consultants. The ICF/ID Supervisor is responsible for developing the work schedules for the three shifts to assure adequate ratios to meet regulations and to assure safety and quality of care and training for the individuals. The ICF/ID Supervisor is responsible for assuring ICF/ID regulations and licensing requirements are met, as well as assuring the daily safety and welfare of the individuals. This position provides training, assistance and supervision to staff in the provision of active treatment services, to include assessment, development, documentation and evaluation of individual program plans. The ICF/ID Supervisor also serves as the Administrator and Food Services Specialist.

Minimum Education and Experience: -Bachelor’s or Masters in Human Services Field and 1 year of documented experience working directly with individuals who have intellectual or developmental disabilities (preferred)

-5 years of paid employment developing, conducting, and approving assessments and individual service plans, treatment plans for individuals with intellectual disabilities

*Intellectual Disabilities - Office Cleaner

Part Time

Responsibilities: This position is responsible for maintaining a clean work environment, for the ID facility located at 543 Church Street in Clifton Forge, VA. The incumbent maintains general cleanliness of the interior of the building to include vacuuming carpeted areas, sweeping and/or mopping the tiled areas, maintenance of hardwood floors, disinfecting bathrooms and emptying all trash cans and shredders. The incumbent reports to and is supervised by the Director of ID Services.

Qualifications: -High School Diploma or GED (required) -Previous cleaning experience (preferred) -Meet requirements of motor vehicle check, drug/alcohol testing and child abuse/neglect with the Va. Dept. of Social Services (required)

*Mental Health - Adult Psychiatrist

Full and Part-time

RESPONSIBILITIES: Conducts clinical evaluations for determining current mental status and medication needs for Adult populations; prescribes medication and follows patients for medication monitoring and adjustments; provides consultation to outpatient clinical staff; participates in staff meetings as required; completes entry of notes and evaluations (written, electronic and dictation).

REQUIREMENTS: Doctor of Medicine from an accredited medical school required. Virginia Medical License required. Board Certified/Board Eligible in Adult Psychiatry preferred. Fingerprinting, FBI and State criminal record checks, drug testing, and CANIS report will be required upon request.

ANNUAL SALARY RANGE: $132,931 - $199,397. Excellent fringe benefits. Alleghany Highlands Community Services welcomes international graduates (J-1 and H-1B Visa waivers).

*Mental Health - Child and Family Services Therapist

Full Time

Responsibilities: Provide quality service adhering to safety regulations and gaining the knowledge to assist consumers with any and all needs. This position is primarily responsible for providing outpatient therapy to children, adolescents and families for residents of Clifton Forge, Covington and Alleghany County. Complete intakes and assessments on clients and families referred to the agency for therapy services. Work directly with the psychiatrist and follow recommendations as a result of psychiatric evaluations. Participate in treatment team meetings with psychiatrist and other children services team members. Maintain all electronic records for client caseload including treatment plans, quarterly evaluations and outside reports and correspondence when necessary. This position will complete all Medicaid authorizations for clients on caseload who have Medicaid insurance. Participate in weekly supervision with direct supervisor.

Qualifications: -1 year experience working with children and adolescents -Master’s Degree in Counseling related field (required) -LPC or LCSW Lincense or License Eligible(required)

*Mental Health - Emergency Services Clinician

Part-Time

Major duties include providing face-to-face and telephone crisis intervention, diagnostic evaluations and assessments of need for treatment, preadmission screenings for private and state psychiatric hospitalization, behavioral health consultations, and referrals to other programs or community based services.

Masters degree, LPC, LCSW or a Registered Nurse licensed to practice in Virginia with 36 months experience working in mental health, or a current agency employee with a Bachelor’s Degree and previously “grandfathered” by the Executive Director as certified as a preadmission screening evaluator are exempt from the Master’s Degree requirement. Outpatient or inpatient clinical mental health and/or substance abuse treatment experience required; documented crisis intervention experience within the past five years required. Successful completion of the DBHS/MRSAS approved Certification Training Program for Preadmission Screening Evaluators required.

Responsibilities: Oversees the daily operation of the Transition Living Program which develops transitional, personal, and community integration and independent living skills. Work involves supervision of services through team of direct care staff; managing and allocating the resources of the assigned service programs; and monitoring the progress of consumers; documentation prepared by staff; and the development and implementation of individual service plans. Employee is responsible for the direct care, supervision and support of consumers in residential, day support, and additional mental health support scenarios, which enable the consumer to participate in community lifestyles.
