We are looking self-motivated, energetic and inquisitive Research Associates to join our industry-leading research team in downtown Washington, DC!

CoStar Research Associates are the foundation of CoStar's business and play a pivotal role accurately capturing business-critical information for an assigned portfolio of properties. By pro-actively contacting leading commercial property professionals, building relationships with them, and asking the right questions, Research Associates obtain real-time data to ensure that CoStar's database accurately reflects the listings, inventory, and recent deals in the marketplace.

As a Research Associate, you will be working in a fast-paced, goal-driven environment where your mission is to provide our clients with the most up-to-date and accurate data about a portfolio of commercial properties. You must be armed with a deep commitment to customer service and have a passion for analytics and attention to detail. You will develop cutting-edge telephone interview skills that will allow you to build rapport with leading commercial real estate professionals enabling us to obtain and verify the freshest data possible.

Our Research Associates collectively provide the data facilitating over $500 billion dollars in real estate transactions annually—can you imagine yourself being a part of this integral team?

Essential functions of a Research Associate: • Grow an accurate and complete database of commercial real estate inventory by tracking all available spaces for sale and lease, as well as accurately tracking information on all completed sale and lease deals within a market. • Conduct 30+ telephone interviews per day of a portfolio of companies, to ensure their listings (for sale and for lease) are accurately reflected in the CoStar database. • Capture detailed transaction information from your portfolio allowing other deal makers to make informed decisions about deals in their market. • Convert leads from outside sources to new transactions and contacts—these sources include web sites, field leads, SEC filings, news stories, and tax records. • Effectively brand CoStar during research interviews. • Write news stories on breaking commercial real estate news uncovered through research. • Provide assistance to customers during update process if they need assistance using CoStar products.

Qualifications: • A Bachelor’s degree is required • Interest in and/or a passion for commercial real estate is a must • Experience working in a fast-paced environment • Demonstrated experience of success working in a performance-based / metrics environment (i.e. experience in an environment that measures and rewards individuals for meeting and exceeding performance targets) • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills • Successful candidates will have comfort and/or • Proficiency in Windows-based applications • The ability to learn quickly & apply new concepts • U.S. Work Authorization required
