Hey there Class of ’70, “Baldwin Girls Who Are Still On the Go”!
It is very hard to believe that next spring we will be having our 40th College Class Reunion! It seems like only yesterday when we were living on campus, studying day and night, climbing those fabled hills, taking road trips to other colleges and universities, and anxious to graduate and move on to the next phase of our lives. Times certainly does fly by!
If you haven’t already done so, please mark your calendars for April 8 -11, 2010, and plan to join us for our special reunion weekend. I hope you will make every effort you can to come back to campus, even if you can only come for some of the festivities! We have designated the Hampton Inn-Staunton as our official class accommodation, and have also reserved the Mary Julia Baldwin room in the Administration Building on campus as our official Hospitality location. You will have many opportunities to catch up with classmates, tour campus and see the great improvements, meet the MBC President, and learn what MBC is like in 2010.
We have a terrific reunion committee, which is working closely with Tina Kincaid at the Alumni Office to plan many fun events. Our class co-presidents are Janie Huske Satterfield and Jean Grainger. Our class dinner will be held at Liz Jennings Shupe’s home on Saturday. For those of you who are “computer-savvy”, I am on Facebook and have tried to find those of you who are also on there. I have set up a group called “MBC Class of 1970” to keep you informed, so please look for our class group on Facebook and make a request to join.
Over the next few months, you will receive several communications about Reunion Weekend and the ways you can be involved in the celebration – from reaching out to your friends to participating in our class gift. Please pass the word on to all of your MBC friends, and encourage them to make a special effort to attend our 40th Reunion. It is certain to be a very special time for all of us!
