Mary Baldwin College women are everywhere you want to be.

Founded in 1842 — when educating women was just starting to be taken seriously — Mary Baldwin College continues that proud tradition in its residential undergraduate programs. The thriving adult undergraduate and graduate programs at this private liberal arts college for women also provide today’s students with coed interaction and varied perspectives from non-traditional age classmates.

Learning and doing go hand in hand at Mary Baldwin — a combination that develops engaged citizens of the world. Never has experiential learning been more important for young women looking to make their mark. Mary Baldwin women know they are in a place where they will discover more about themselves than they imagined and they are likely to translate those discoveries into action. Ongoing participation in the National Survey of Student Engagement, reveals that Mary Baldwin College students are active and engaged. MBC scored in the top 10 percent among more than 600 institutions for providing enriching educational experiences, which include exposure to cultural diversity and women's issues and perspectives. By maintaining the residential College for Women at its core, MBC “creates leaders, communicators, and persuaders,” according to a national study that compared women’s college alumnae with alumnae from coed institutions.
