  Bertie Murphy Deming Smith > MBC Honors Donor, Reveals Name of New College of Health Sciences
At a special ceremony held at the future site of MBC’s new graduate programs, the college recognized Bertie Murphy Deming Smith ’46 for her $15 million lead contribution. The new venture will bear the name The Murphy Deming College of Health Sciences in her honor.

  Mary Beth and Gordon Smyth > MBC Announces $1 Million Endowment
The newly created H. Gordon and Mary Beth Reed Smyth Chair in Business Administration builds on the strong tradition of student-faculty collaborative work at Mary Baldwin. Mary Beth Smyth ’47 was on campus in April to present Assistant Professor of Business Administration Joseph Sprangel with the inaugural appointment.

One of the most anticipated events during Reunion Weekend is the annual awards presentation. From an IBM executive to a former American Red Cross administrator to a devoted classroom teacher, this year's recipients capture and demonstrate bold Baldwin spirit.

Scholar, philanthropist, award-winning filmmaker, and mother of four Abigail Disney will deliver the keynote address at MBC’s 170th Commencement on May 20. After years of living and learning the service ethos at Mary Baldwin College, many 2012 graduates are likely to glimpse their futures when they hear about Disney's life and work.

  • ROAD TRIP, ANYONE? One of the new ways to reconnect with MBC this summer is by visiting campus for (free!) public performances by students at the Heifetz International Music Institute. Concerts will be held each Monday and Wednesday from July 1 to August 10 in Francis Auditorium. Tickets for the institute’s Celebrity Series concerts on Thursday nights at Blackfriars Playhouse start at just $10.
