  sword > VWIL Commissioning Ceremony
Five of this year's 10 Virginia Women's Institute for Leadership graduates will accept commissions in the United States Army. The ceremony represents the culmination of four years of academic work and physical training as students receive their first salutes as new officers. This year's speaker is U.S. Army Captain Ashley Langston '09.
11 a.m., Barbara Kares Page Terrace. Rain Location: James D. Francis Auditorium.

At this ceremony — considered a rite of passage for select seniors who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to multicultural campus life — each student receives a kente stole, hand woven in Africa. This year's speaker is career advisor Torski Dobson-Arnold '99.

  change of command > VWIL Change of Command Review
A salute to the achievement of the Virginia Women's Institute for Leadership graduates, the ceremony includes the passing of the sabres and a full parade by the nation's only all-female corps of cadets. Brigadier General Mike Bissell, commandant of cadets, will deliver this year's address.
2 p.m., Parade Ground at the PAC. Rain Location: PAC.

> Phi Beta Kappa Initiation
Alumna Rhea Vance-Cheng '09 will deliver the keynote address at this ceremony, in which select students become official members of what is widely considered the country's most prestigious academic honor society.
