Professor Emerita of Biochemistry Margaret "Peggy" Pinkston — whose career path exemplified the concept of a liberal arts education and the concept of the "Boldly Baldwin" woman — passed away September 24 at Brightview Baldwin Park in Staunton. She was 92.

  Founders Day > October 6
Founders Day

Since 1898, Founders Day is held to honor the college’s two founders, Rufus W. Bailey and Mary Julia Baldwin. This year, MBC welcomes back Class of 2002 alumna Giannina Garces, who will deliver the keynote address. Now a resident physician for the Department of Anesthesia and Critical Care Medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Garces will present "Songs of Innocence and Experience." For seniors, Founders Day marks the first occasion on which they don their caps and gowns. 12:15 to 1:25 p.m., First Presbyterian Church, 100 E. Frederick St., Staunton.
