Brenda Bryant Memorial 5K Run/Walk
The Virginia Women's Institute for Leadership (VWIL) will remember its founding director, dean of students, and senior vice president for enrollment management, Brenda Bryant, during the SMA/VWIL Reunion Weekend March 22–24 with a 5K run/walk. Bryant battled cancer for some time before her death last August. She was particularly noted for her compassion, interest in the development and success of every cadet, and physical fitness. "She touched the lives of every cadet who went through VWIL," said Col. Melissa Patrick, deputy commandant. The event begins at 3 p.m. Saturday in Gypsy Hill Park. See the VWIL online calendar for additional information about the memorial 5K and about the rest of the events associated with SMA/VWIL Reunion, or contact the VWIL office at 540-887-7042.
