French
French majors become proficient in reading, speaking, writing, and understanding French. They examine literary works representing France and other French-speaking regions, study and perform a contemporary French play, and look at the role of women in French culture. Students can supplement their study by going to France during May Term and becoming immersed in the French culture. French is housed in the World Literatures and Languages department.
Students can pursue a BA with a major in French. French also is available as a minor. We strongly encourage you to consider French as a second major to support and interconnect with another major, such as Art History, Health Care Administration, History, International Relations, International Economics and Business, and others.
French is a part of MBC’s School of Arts, Humanities, and Renaissance Studiesand is available through the College for Women and Adult Degree Program in Staunton.
