Announcing the 2009 Reunion Challenge!

Fuel the Momentum

We have some exciting news to share with you!

When you make your special gift in honor of your Reunion this year, a small group of your fellow alumnae have agreed to match it!

This Reunion Challenge is an extraordinary opportunity for you and your classmates to double the impact of your gifts — turning up to $100,000 into $200,000 for your alma mater!

Here’s the challenge: For every dollar you give to the Annual Fund in honor of your Reunion, a generous group of alumnae will match it dollar-for-dollar.  To qualify for the match, all gifts must be given in cash (no pledges) by the end of this fiscal year on June 30, 2009.  For every dollar you give, your MBC sisters have agreed to match every dollar in cash with gifts of their own - up to a total of $100,000!

Accept the Reunion 2009 Challenge!

This special year, Mary Baldwin College celebrates YOU and your part in our powerful community.  Recognize your special time at Baldwin by giving back to the school that has given you so much.

Now more than ever, your participation is crucial and shows your support for your alma mater.  Don’t miss out on this remarkable opportunity to help MBC!

With their challenge to you, your sister alumnae highlight the vital importance of annual giving this year, and in the years to come.  As the college faces complicated economic challenges, it is the gifts from loyal alumnae like you that ensure the continued success of Mary Baldwin College.

Please join the MBC family in thanking these inspiring women behind the Challenge for stepping up for the college and for you!  We are deeply grateful to your sister alumnae from several reunion classes for their extraordinary commitment to your alma mater.

The 2009 Reunion Council includes Bev Bates '64, Yum Arnold '69, Ann Day '74, Cynthia Haw '7, and Holly Vitullo '89.

Reunion Class Gifts

As part of the overall reunion experience, classes establish a special class gift that benefits the entire Mary Baldwin community. Many alumnae, whether or not they plan to return to campus for reunion, choose to give to their class gift to commemorate their time at Mary Baldwin.

In addition to a monetary goal, each reunion class has a participation goal (percentage of class members contributing) to encourage as many people as possible to make a gift to the college. All giving to the college during the reunion period counts toward reunion class gift totals.

Alumnae make the difference.

As a private women’s college, Mary Baldwin relies upon the support of generous alumnae like you to provide her students with the unique opportunities and exceptional education that have been the hallmarks of the MBC experience for 167 years.

Your participation is crucial and shows your support for your alma mater in this special year.

With your gift in honor of your Reunion, you enhance the strong reputation of a Mary Baldwin education — by allowing the college to strengthen the focus on academic excellence, provide personalized attention to every student, unite and enrich our college community, and continue to renew our campus environment.

Make your special Reunion gift today.
