Plagiarism

Plagiarism is the presentation of someone's words or ideas as your own. Plagiarism is considered intellectual theft and it's an MBC honor code violation.

According to the ADP Student Handbook, "all work in which a student is found to have plagiarized is automatically invalid. If students discover they have made a mistake in acknowledging sources in a paper submitted, they should make this known to the instructor."

Some examples of plagiarism are:

Using an author's exact words without using quotation marks or a proper citation. This includes a single unique word or longer phrases.
Paraphasing someone's ideas or arguments without properly citing.
Turning in a paper written by someone else, whether it was given to you or purchased.
