Course Reserves

The library uses Blackboard to manage course reserves. Faculty have the ability to manage their own electronic course reserves in Blackboard. In addition, the library staff can scan reserve materials and make them available under the Course Documents section of Blackboard courses.

Faculty may also continue to use the Library's traditional reserve services for printed books, personal copies and other resources. The library will not put the same documents on both print reserve and electronic reserve.

When submitting an article for electronic reserves, the copy needs to be of good quality so it scans well. If the article or document you want placed on reserve is in electronic form send us a copy of it either on a floppy disk or as an attachment. If the document is full text in a database tell us which database it is in or send the article's url. If possible note the full citation on the first page of each article or send us the citation. Please read the library's statement on Copyright and Course Reserves.

Material, both electronic and print, is processed in the order it is given to us. Please give us your reserve items as soon as possible, at least 48 hours in advance. Send electronic items to Christina Daniel, Circulation Coordinator, cdaniel@mbc.edu or 540-887-7085.
