- Projected frequency of future use.

Criteria to be used to determine the suitability of deselecting general materials:
- The importance of the work: its inclusion in standard subject and comprehensive bibliographies or rare book lists.
- The appropriateness of the subject matter to the curriculum.
- The quantity and recency of patron use.
- Interlibrary loan use.
- The physical condition of the publication.

Those books that are eventually withdrawn will:
1) be sent to our partners at Better World Books. As a quick reminder, BWB will attempt to: sell the items for us and we will receive a percentage of the sale; donate to our selected non-profit, Room to Read; or recycle the books.
2) Those that aren't accepted by Better World Books will be offered to the MBC community.
3) Those that remain will be recycled.
