Public Access and Use
Mary Baldwin College provides an academic library
for the use of its students, faculty, and staff. Community residents are welcome
to visit and to use designated library materials in accordance with library
policies. The College reserves the right to restrict any individual from
entering Grafton Library, or from using any of its materials, equipment,
facilities, or services.
A library card is $25 per year for community residents over the age of 18 who live in Staunton, Waynesboro or Augusta County. To apply, you must present a photo ID showing your current address and pay the application fee. The library card will be issued and mailed within 5 business days.
A library card is required to borrow books from the library's general collection, but does not include videos, dvds, reference items, bestsellers, periodicals, interlibrary loan or audiovisual equipment. Community borrowers may use designated workstations to search the library's online catalog; however, other online resources are restricted to MBC faculty, staff and students.
Cardholders are responsible for all fines and replacement costs for lost or damaged books. Use of the library card is restricted to the person to who it has been issued. The library card must be renewed each year. Report lost or stolen cards immediately.
High school students are welcome to use materials in the library; however no checkout privileges are allowed.
