Winter Clothing
Temperatures in Staunton occasionally get as low as 10 degrees Fahrenheit (-12 degrees Celsius) in mid-winter. It is very important that you have warm boots, a heavy coat, a hat, and gloves. If you do not have these items, they can be purchased locally.
Other Necessities
Residence Halls provide basic furnishings, but there are additional items that many students find useful to bring or buy, such as those listed below.
- You can purchase all of these items cheaply and locally in Staunton, and many international students prefer to do this since shipping and excess baggage costs are high.
- It is a good idea to contact your roommate as soon as possible to see what items she may already be bringing for your room.
- When you arrive for International Student Orientation, one of the first things we will do is go shopping, so you can purchase the items you need.
