Congratulations Class of 2011 Peer Mentors!

Have you ever felt that you might like to meet with a seasoned MBC student
who "knows the ropes?" Someone who can talk about your classes?
Someone who will listen to personal concerns that you have — such as roommate
problems? Someone who will help you to get organized? Someone to discuss
effective note taking, reading, and/or test taking techniques here at MBC?

If you answered "yes" to any of the above, peer mentoring may be
for you! Peer mentors, who are trained by the director of the Learning Skills
Center, are available to help you manage your time, learn effective study
skills, and adjust to college life.

You meet with your mentor about once
a week at times and locations that are agreeable to both of you. A meeting
might have a particular focus, such as time management or note taking. However,
at any meeting you can feel free to discuss any problems/concerns that might
affect your progress at MBC. Both you and your mentor sign confidentiality
agreements, so anything you discuss will be considered strictly confidential.
